Children are an important part of the church family at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
As a church family we all meet together at the beginning of the service. There is usually a family focus spot, which is usually a small talk or illustration linked to the theme the children are looking at in their groups, before the children go out to their groups which meet in the rooms attached to the church.
We have groups to cater for children aged 0-14 during the service and a group for 13-18 year olds meets after the service. All groups are well staffed by a team of volunteers from the church membership who help on a rota basis.
For the 0-3's we have a crèche where carers can leave their children with staff and return to the service. The crèche staff will fetch you if your child needs you.
3-5's have a group called sparklers, 5-11's are in Ready, Steady, Go and 11-14's meet as a group called sprouts. All use materials developed by scripture union, children's ministries or similar.
Our aim is for the children to have fun and enjoy learning about Jesus and develop their faith and relationship with God. We use drama, storytelling, art, craft, singing and games to get the themes across in an age appropriate way.
Children return to the main service during the last song to join the guardians who brought them.
We have regular family services where all ages worship together.
We hope all children well feel a welcomed into our church family and look forward to meeting you.
